Alarms & Controls

The alarm automatically dials up to 3 phone numbers (up to 16 digits each) and transmits your custom voice message identifying location and temperature status, giving you or a neighbor a chance to remedy the problem or at least call the plumber. You can also call in at any time to check the temperature of your property or to change any of the settings.

Unit has battery backup to operate during a power failure (should power fail, unit will also call out to notify of power loss); it will even remind you to change the back-up battery. Programmable from any touch tone phone. 5"x1.5"x5.25"; 2 lbs.

Notes:
If you have an answering machine at the same location as your voice alarm, the answering machine will normally pick up a call before your voice alarm. To gain access to your alarm, set theanswering machine's ring selector at four or less. Call the number and hang up before the answering machine answers. Wait two minutes, call again, and the alarm will pick up your call. If you have an answering machine at your "Call to" location, you can set the voice alarm to hang up before the machine answers to avoid unwanted long distance phone charges when you are not home. You can also set it so that it leaves an alarm message or portion of the message on your machine. The amount of message it leaves depends on the length of your greeting (something you will need to experiment with once you receive your alarm).
1) At your temperature monitoring location, an answering machine or voice mail should not be used on the same telephone line as Freeze Alarm. The alarm can not receive calls when sharing a telephone line with an answering machine so you will not be able to turn it off.
2) At your "Call to" location, Freeze Alarm is designed to communicate with you personally to best assist in protecting your property from freeze up. Therefore, it will not leave the alarm tone message on an answering machine. It will keep calling you until you phone back to disable it (or the temperature rises above 45 degrees).
